Technical Writer

Remote - San Francisco, CA is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team. You will work with our content, which includes resources such as the official docset, tooltips, blog posts, and forum. An ideal candidate can work independently and collaboratively with team members and subject matter experts. 

As a Technical Writer at at, you'll work on...

  • Writing succinct, scannable formal documentation
  • Writing blog posts
  • Editorial passes and copy editing for grammar, punctuation, and clarity
  • Rewriting and editing existing documentation
  • Structuring and iterating on docs, nav structure, and overall experience
  • Incorporating customer feedback to improve content
  • Testing documentation steps for accuracy
  • Differentiating, writing. and organizing task-based docs, conceptual docs, and reference docs
  • Writing and maintaining docs for developers and non-developers
  • Working with style standards 
  • Determining the most logical and intuitive presentation of content
  • Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team
  • Help design video course content and coordinate videos with written content

You will thrive in this role if you have…

  • Flexibility to change and wrap up projects quickly, as well as iterate rapidly
  • Basic familiarity with technical/programming concepts such as popular JavaScript frameworks
  • Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, the basics of GitHub
  • 2+ years of technical/instructional writing experience
  • The ability to iterate on ideas individually and collaboratively
  • Understanding of the unique use case for developer and non-developer docs 
  • Proficiency in English
  • Willingness to grow and learn in the field of instruction and technical writing
  • Interest in instructional differentiation
  • A passion for style, tone, and grammar
